Lost in thoughts of the future
The present slips away
Hesitation takes its toll
On a mind cast in shades of grey

I'm watching myself grow
Grow into other peoples shadows
Fulfill the preconceptions
And walk down well travelled roads

I want originality
To forge a new direction

Questions of identity
Give rise to painful thoughts
Of the nature of uniqueness
And the existence of a destiny

As I write these words
My hole grows ever deeper
More knowledge has been missed
And I can feel myself starting to slip
